A few days ago, suddenly Abdurrahman wanted to be a postman and he started delivering ‘mail’ with his tricycle. As impromptu as it was, i didn’t have enough ‘letter’ for him to deliver.
The day after that, I thought it would be nice for him to get the experience of sending a letter and delivering it to The recipient. So, I quickly grab some card stock for The letter, some envelopes, and a sheet of label tag.
I wrote some simple sentences in the letter, paste a label tag on top of each letter and wrote who is the recipient of this letter (basically our family member), wrote the recipient name again on the envelope and draw some funny stamps.
Now, invite the little postman to do the rest of the job. First, he need to match the letter to the corresponding envelope based on the recipient name, put the letter in, paste some mail stamps, and ready for delivery service.
Note : since my son cant read word yet, so to match the letter he needs to identify the first letter of our name (lucky that we all have different first letters).
That morning he had lots of fun being our little postman.
You can further improvise the play by letter your kids create their own letter, and create a mail box for each recipient to drop the letter to.
