How’s work? Alhamdulillah, this day marks one week of me returning back to work. It’s not an easy transition, especially for me and the kids,. I try to call home at least once during lunch time to talk to Abdurrahman. The little boy is unhappy having much shorter time to be with mommy. Several time he almost cried wanting me to be at home and not only in the evening. Well, it is expected, and I hope he will get accustomed into our new routines soon.
Khadijah has been be having well. She never rejects the ebm given in the bottle, which is a good thing. She naps well in the morning, but for afternoon naps sometimes she wants to be accompanied all the time haha. That’s fine. I’ll leave it to our family helper to manage her time really well to do the other for chores.
My office is as beautiful as it was. This koi pond is what greets me every morning. Most of my colleagues are young people (or young at heart?). They nicknamed our office space as minnion’s office. How true! In this huge research institution, our role is so small such that people out there might wonder what actually we are doing.
But as our ED says, no role is negligible. Every body is important in our community, each giving meaningful contribution for the better future.
I missed my old lab and its warm-hearted people, but no worries, this poster is more than sufficient. The lab may be closed down, but not the products and awards it has achieved, such as this poster. Hey, it won Magna Cumlaude and Excellence in Design award in 2010!
Work is tight, but I try my best to perform. I should remind myself over and over again, that I am really priviledged to be In this prestigious institution. So, be grateful, work hard, pray hard, and believe that Allah will ease every thing for us.
51 weeks to go. Pray the best for me, every one.
